Join us at Green Bay’s Fit Fest for the “Celebrity Red Zone Challenge”, Saturday, July 16th, from 10:30 am to noon at Leicht Memorial Park (right behind Titletown Brewery), and watch your favorite area personalities and active community partners hit the gridiron to help fight hunger. Enjoy an afternoon of trick plays, diving catches, one handed interceptions, and some of the best TD dances that would make the ESPN Top 10 Plays of the Week.
Originally part of On Broadway’s Winterfest, we are trading the ice and snow for sunshine and joining forces with the City of Green Bay and Aurora BayCare to promote healthy and active life styles in our community.
We will be slowly releasing the rosters and lineups throughout the month for “Team Wettstein” and “Team Clusman”, so visit often to see who will be on the field. Past teams have included members of the Green Bay Chill, Paper Valley Roller Girls, Comedy City, as well as:
Harry Sydney – Former NFL Player and 107.5 The Fan
Ahman Green – Former NFL Player
Anne Wettstein – GB Chill
Jennifer Ann Wilson – WBAY
Burke Griffin – WFRV
Jennie Sykes – Good Day Wisconsin
Rob Zizzo – Key Audiences Editor Green Bay Press Gazette
Brian Johnson – On Broadway
In addition to the fast paced 5 on 5 flag football action, enjoy the colorful and entertaining play-by-play, music by area DJs, and treats/beverages supplied by Bank Mutual.
Like last year, a number community partners will be collecting canned food donations during the month of July to benefit area Pantries and the “Food Drive 5”. Total donations by each community partner will be calcucated on Saturday and totals will be announced shortly after. I want to thank all of the partners and volunteers who have helped support this event and my personal goal of raising 100,000 pounds of food every year for our community. Past partners have included Walgreens, Bank Mutual, the City of Green Bay, The Hyatt on Main, Rogue Traders, and more.
In 2014, Team Wettstein and Team Clusman ended the game in a 30-30 tie, evening their personal grudge match at 1-1-1. Who will it be this year? So come on down to Fit Fest and Open Streets Green Bay for a day of music, biking, walking, food, fitness classes, and of course…some football. See you there.
