Every week, we highlight 5 interesting events, activities, initiatives, or unique happenings around the Greater Green Bay community (in no particular order). Things to do in Green Bay this week:
1 – Kids Safe Block Party, Saturday, August 13th, 10:00 am to 3:00 pm, Herb Blue’s Total Self Defense, Green Bay, WI
Now in their second year, the “Kid’s Safe Block Party is a great family friendly event featuring martial arts demos, fitness classes, kid activities, games, a Ninja Warrior course, and more. Join us to help be a safer community and live better by being stronger. Plus, proceeds support the TSD Scholarship Fund in the process of having fun. Sensei Blue and his school have been great supporters of health and wellness in Green Bay and have been part of our Fit Fest/Open Streets Green Bay initiative as well as the West Side Concert Series – Picnic In The Parks.
2 – Seymour Burger Fest and Hot Air Balloon Rally, August 12th and 13th, Seymour, WI
While Burger Fest is a fun community event, there is something special about seeing dozens of hot air balloons take to the sky. Breathtaking hot air balloon ascensions and glows will happen Friday night, Saturday morning and night, and Sunday morning and night. Friday: 4-9pm; Saturday: 6am, 5-9pm; Sunday: 6am (times are approximate and weather permitting)
Fun kid’s activities will also take place, and delicious burgers, french fries, hot dogs, cheese curds, soda and water will be served.
3 – Jim Gaffigan, August 8th, 8:00 pm, Resch Center, Green Bay, WI
